Packshot Photography London

‘Packshot’ is a made up word meaning product shot, on white or black, cut out, without background or with a little shadow or reflection that has a wide range of uses from catalogue, reference, to placing in advertising, using as part of a group of products shot at different times.

Crisp highlights or backlit fragrances, each client has a specific idea of how their products look best and our job is to recreate their desired effect each time and fast. Depending on the material and quality of packaging these are often shot multiple times to ensure that each design element is shown in the best light. Often, products are mocked up, sometimes the labels aren’t even printed but need to be applied in post production, textures or sizes altered. This is no challenge for us. From close up details of fake lashes to point of sale displays and intricate perfume bottles – we have a method to bring out the best in each product. Cosmetics are famously tricky to shoot due to a sheer vaume of effects – silver print on white, glossy packaging, gold embossing in glass that needs to be both back and front lit whilst retaining an attractive depth and colour through often less than perfect glass, chrome nozzles and cream jars that must glow like jewels – we’ve seen it all.
